This year I'm trying to do more for others and at the same time build on my passion of flying. I've joined Angel Flight West, which offers a way for pilots a way to donate their time and their airplanes to help needy people get to medical facilities from remote areas of California. My passenger, Tim, is 19 from Red Bluff and has systemic sclerosis a tissue disease that can leave people in fairly poor shape - we didn't talk about it during the flight. It can be terminal, but he was upbeat and making plans for the future including community college and planning to build track cars for drag racing.
We flew from Redbluff Municipal Airport to Reid Hillview Airport. There was some low cloud cover so it was an IFR flight plan, but above the clouds the visibility was over 100 miles.
A few photos from the flight - leaving the SF Bay area there were some great shots of Candlestick and San Francisco with patches of low cloud cover.
